HI all,

I just installed the new truglo tfx pro sights in my m&p 9 fs.


so hard, but is gone

one "issue" on the fron sight

a little space between (less of 1 mm) sight and gun...in the photo is more then real, for the reflex of light on the slide.

yep...the gunsmith, the classic sight press wasn't enough!!!!

that's not right. I installed two sets of truglo one on my 45c and the other on my 9c without issues. I used the MGW sight pusher.

I have TFO and TFX on some of mine. That is unacceptable, sorry. The strange thing is that all of my TruGlo brand front sights have been very very easy to install. In fact, I've had to Locktite several.

Looks like it was not seated properly in the dovetail and they just forced it in. They should have figured out what was wrong and correct the problem. I wouldn't accept it.

Did you try fitting the sights to the dovetail slot? Looks like they needed fitting, which would have taken the sight gap down some for sure. If a sight pusher will not install a sight, it's time to file the sight down!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people calling themselves gun smiths who are not. Most sights need to be fit to the dove tail. Yours was not. This is evident by the sight pusher not being able to get it in.

The correct way to fit the sight is to test fit it in the dove tail. If it won't fit half way by hand, it needs to be adjusted. File a little off the BOTTOM of the sight then test again. Do this until it can go half way by hand. Then you'll find the sight pusher can get it in easily.

This is probably why it's standing so high. If the proper amount had been filed off the sight, it would sit flush.

The worst part about this is the so called gun smith has probably ruined your dove tail by forcing the sight in there. I would demand he replace my slide.

Worst install job I have seen. Sight was definitely not fit to the dovetail. I also bet that the dovetail is ruined, hope not though.
