Trying Again

Been trying to get pictures uploaded of the aforementioned holster. Another try, and if it works, the revolver is a M65-5. Who made it?

What you have there is a K Frame 357 mag. It is a stainless variant
of S&W Model 13. Great looking leather by the way. I believe
the holster was made by Safariland. It looks to me like an
original Bianchi (that was gobbled up by Safariland.)

Thanks, crazyphil. I was getting frustrated in getting the pictures of the holster posted, I knew what the revolver is. The holster feels like good quality, used very little. All I did was put some Black Rock on it. A comfortable rig. I have no recollection of how I acquired the holster.

SL Holster

I have examined a lot of holsters, but cannot recall seeing that "SL" maker mark before. When Safariland started out they were known as "Safari Land", so I guess it could be an early Safariland as Phil suggests.

The B-27 silhouette bordering the maker's mark is interesting, but I don't recall seeing it before...Safariland comes to mind for me too......Ben

Very nice looking holster, but I don’t believe it is a Safariland holster, see the pics I have several of their original leather holsters before they went to police and military style holsters.

Don't know about your holster but the gun was made by Smith & Wesson....

This holster is nothing like a Bianchi 'pancake' -- I should know -- and faintly resembles the Safariland because of the way the belt slots are configured but it's not Neale's. That's what's known as a tombstone 'man' target as the outline of the logo so I'm going to say it is 1970s; the likes of the Bianchi Cup stopped using the tombstone targets then.

Obviously a small operator made this one, and reasonably nicely, too.

The "tombstone" design makes sense now that I am told. I just couldn't make it out in my mind. Now mentioned, I didn't realize those targets represented the same thing. This holster does seem good quality, I think I will switch out my Idaho Leather holster for awhile for the four inch revolver.
