trying to learn about my 29-2

AKRocky- even if it is a missmarked gun it really doesn't raise the value
its not like a upside down air mail stamp or something

welll that is good to know about all this magnet business never thought i would be talking about a magnet at a firearms forum lol but you learn something new everyday and oh well evenif it doesnt raise the value it sure makes a neat conversation piece lol it's already started a great conversation

srg-lt stuck to the fridge. lt stuck to my 29-2. lt did NOT stick to my 629 p@r. The magnet did NOT stick to the knives forks spoons in the silverware drawer. These stamped "Stainless Steel"
Magnets wont stick to stainless

THat same magnet stuck to the chrome moly receiver of my Jarrett Rifle. lt did NOT stick to its 4110 STAINLESS BARREL.

I can see you edited your post I wasn't able to comment on it since I was at work, but I'm still laughing on how much of an *** you sounded like. I'm certain you realized the choice of your words was out of line, but live and learn right? Keep guns out of the kitchen BUBU.

sw282 is a great guy, and I'm sure he will help you out with this one.;)

Well, actually, stainless IS slightly magnetic. Just much less so than regular steel. I have some neo magnets that will stick to lead! They will pick up SS screws if they're small enough.:D

EDIT: Let me extract my E-foot from mouth.

I just went & tried one of my neo magnets on my M66. The thing STUCK!

I tried one of my magnetic socket holders & it stuck a little. Less than it does to regular steel.

So did the cheap fridge magnet!

I'll be dipped.

Well... I learned something today. Perhaps the content in the SS that S&W uses? There are many different kinds. Is it carbon content that makes steel magnetic?

Hmmm.... maybe I can use this. Wondering how much somebody would actually bet that a magnet won't stick to their SS S&W? I would have wagered a few $$$.... and lost!:D
