Tried to upload 5 pictures to Photobucket(my first experience); one refused to upload. Not a problem this time; 4 is good enough.

BUT -searched "help" to learn how to post to this forum, followed instructions, didn't work. Here is what I did:

-put mouse over picture(drop-down menu comes up), clicked 'share'('post to website' window comes up), clicked on 'share to other sites', selected code at bottom, copied code at bottom, went to this window on forum, tried to paste code from Photobucket in this window, NOTHING happened.

Any suggestions from you experienced folks? Let me know if you need clarification; I'll do my best.

Thanks a bunch, friends.

I click the bottom code like you did, but not the two steps you said you did first (share and the other one), unless I misunderstood what you did. Try skipping those two steps.

If you position the pointer over the photo in photobucket, you'll see four different options below the photo. Click the box next to "Direct link". It will copy the link to that photo. To add it to your message here, click on the little yellow square for "Insert Image". In the URL box, delete the http:// that shows up, as this will aready be in the link you copied. Right click and choose "paste". The link to your photo should appear in the box. Then just post your message and the photo should be there.

Misty,

I thought I would try it your way, and got as far as clicking on "Direct link". But I don't see a yellow square anywhere; is that somewhere on the window here where we type our post?

...or you can

1. Right click on image
2. Select "Properties"
3. Highlight and copy the address: (URL)
4. In message type:
5. Paste image address
6. Type:

example (shouldn't have any spaces)

I just edited my initial post with an attempt to correct and clarify the steps I took; maybe this will help Wyatt and others.

I'll keep playing with it and see what happens. Any efforts to help are much appreciated. The digital age and I often don't get along too well.

Thanks,
Andy

Qball,

Thanks for posting that. The problem is that my window doesn't look like that. I don't have the toolbars at the top, nor the smilies at the right; just fields for the title, message, and trackbacks(whatever that is); and the icons at the bottom.

Maybe something to do with my operating system?(Vista)

Andy

I have the Explorer browser also; Vista is my operating system, though; and I hear it can cause some problems with this and that.

Thanks for your effort to help!

Andy

Well, I tried novalty's method and it worked, but it takes a bit more time than I would like.

The pictures also are too small; at this point I don't know how to correct that either. All assistance is greatly appreciated. You're a fine group of folks.

Yes, the litle yellow box is in your forum message box. Look at the top of your message box, where you select the font, etc. There's a little yellow square with a mountain on it. It's the "Insert Image" box.

Misty,

Does your window look like the one Qball sent me in his earlier post? If so, check my response to him -my window doesn't contain the items his does(including the yellow box). Don't know why.

Your board settings need adjusted, sounds like you're using the "Basic Editor".

In blue bar upper left, Click on "User CP" then in the left column under "Settings & Options" select "Edit Options" and scroll down to " Miscellaneous Options" and under "Message Editor Interface" select either "Standard Editor" Or "Enhanced Interface".

Now save your change (don't forget to put the "S" in the box under "Silly request to fool the Spammers".

Now go back and try adding your photo's.

OK, Ray; now I have what Qball and Misty have. Thank you.

Since I already have the pictures posted, can you tell me how to enlarge them(they're too small to be useful to the viewer)?

Thanks again!
Andy

Better yet, just select the Photobucket dropdown that says "IMG code" instead of direct link. Then you just have to paste it into your post. No button clicking required.

Andy,
Click "Edit" on your listing of the grips. You should see links to all of your pictures and all have a "th_" preceding the .jpg. Delete the "th_" on each link. Now save your changes...they "should" now show up large.

I didn't need to fool w/. "Basic Editor", as Ray said, but it's nice to know if I need. Thanks Ray. I hope I remember if I ever need that.

I go to my image, left click, scroll down to bottom line (4th line) where it says IMG code. It then says "copied", come over here & paste. Done.
BTW, I'm not computer saavy at all, but had to learn to use Photobucket if I wanted to post pics on another forum, cause that's what they used. I can stumble my way thru things w/. some help, & have gotten better. I confimed this worked here too, & even tho I didn't post a pic, I checked it out & thern deleted pic. Tho for me, it's kind automatic now (I try to minimize keystrokes cause I hate typing & find the best way to use PB & the computer in general), Misty & Ray are pointing ya right, just play w/. it.

In my case, even a blind squirrel finds a nut. So if I can do it, you'll get it.

And your posting confirms, I need to add all my recent gun pics to PB.

+1 This is the easiest way.

Ray,

Thank you so much. Who knows what I would have gone thru without someone like you here to show me the ropes.
