Trying to remember a WWII movie

My Dad was in the bulge. He said that they used tanks to transport the wounded to the rear. There was so much blood that the tanks turned a pinkish color. Used to make him sick just thinking about it.

After he and my mom passed, I found a package of all the letters he sent home along with photographs of Belgium and Germany that he took. I'll have to dig the photos out and see if I can scan them in.

I also have his bayonet and his silverware in its canvas pouch. Thats going into my BOB.

There will never be another generation like them.:(

Another WWII Movie (B&W)
This movie was about a Tank Crew. The 75mm Tank Gun was only effective against the German Tanks if the Americans used WP shells.
Later the Americans received a new type Tank with a 90mm Gun that was the equal in fire power to the German Tanks.
IIRC "The Tanks Are Coming" starring Steve Cochran (??)

Is it bad to be able to ID all of the supporting actors in a show when watching one of the oldies TV stations? Problem is I begin to ignore the story to see who appears next on screen.

P.S. Isn't that Earl Holliman also behind Montalban in that photo? And it's RICH Corinthian leather!

Holliman wasnt in the movie and probably too young? Thats Douglas Fowley w/o helmet-the other is Don Taylor w/ helmet in netting.:D

PS, Sgt. Pool was from Taft and Odom, TX, located just a hop, and skip down the road from me. He attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville (my old home town) and was going to be an Engineer-but quit so he could join the Army.

Horse feathers! You provide a valuable and much appreciated service when the rest of us old geezers get bored. ;)

Muchos gracias. After I recover a bit after next weekends gun show--ill be going for more original movie images. Not sure what ill go after next? maybe some Maj Dundee images?

Let's make Ringo Kid really work for his $. Easy for him to show off when he has his stills already prepared. Let's all present him with our suggestions and see if he can come up with anything.
For example: "The H-Man" or "The Atomic Submarine" or the Director's Cut of "Maniac Cop."

Heh heh, none of those images are mine--all from google except for my Heston Dundee Chicago Tribune press photo. :D

I havent heard of h-Man or Maniac Cop, but heard of Atomic Submarine. What do you wanna see from it? Ive never seen it though.

See all, Ringo's cracking under the pressure. You're the superstar, Ringo. It's crunch time. Bottom of the 9th, winning runs on base, 2 out. Time to show you deserve the big bucks. Start swinging, pal. And don't tell me Arthur Franz was not in 'Atomic Submarine.'

Stay safe, partner. Your buddy,

Heh heh, I know of Arthur Franz. He was in movies like:

Cant find more images of Franz in this movie--wasnt in many scenes.

Another WWII that I recall from my "Youth":
1951 "I Was An American Spy" starring Ann Dvorak, Gene Evans, Douglas Kennedy, Lane Bradford, and Myron Healey.

What happened to these old B&W WWII Movies ? I can never find them on "YouTube" or "Netflix"

"Collecting is a "mental" disease. " Disease. Thank god I thought it was a mental illness.

More homework for da Ringo.

This movie was filmed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. My Aunt owned about 20 rental houses, most renters were GI's from the base. They were moved out and the entire movie crew took over the houses.

Victor Mature was of Italian descent. Mo Italian food until St. Louis, 125 miles away. He took over my Aunt's kitchen and cooked. He was a darn good cook. I ate Italian food for the first time...... cooked by a star.

Good man.

Howdy:
I contacted "NetFlix" Customer Service and requested that the aforementioned movies "The Tanks Are Coming" and "I Was A American Spy" be added along with other WWII Movies to NetFlix Streaming. Perhaps in the near future we can view some old B&W WWII films.
