Tulsa Show Find

I just got back from the Tulsa show, where I had a chance to meet some of the very helpful fellow forum members and collectors.
Also, was able to bring home a pair of these beauties: both pre-model 27s in 99% plus condition. Both purchased a few hours apart from different sellers.
But, take a look at the serials.
Now, what are the chances of that happening?

IMHO, the 3.5" pre 27's from the early 50's are the most beautiful guns that S&W made.

Those 27's pre 27's 3.5 inchers have been going up crazy in price and value like the Pythons. I'm not sure why you see plenty for sale. Beautiful pair you have there.

Yeah at Tulsa, Model 28s were priced like 27s, Model 27s were priced like Pythons, and Python prices, as always, were insane!

Go figure! nice snakes bringing 3k. You see hundreds for sale on auction sites. Colt made them by the truck loads.

There must have been hundreds of Pythons at the show, with the cheapest redone guns in $1300-1400 range, minty unboxed guns between $2200-2500 and the minty boxed guns in $2500- $4500, depending on the variation and the barrel length. There were a few that had fake matching labels on the boxes...
I guess, Python is as close as Colt could come in trying to make a Smith...

When I hit the seller's table you had just bought the second one. Guess you saved me a bunch of money cause I'd have jumped on it. Congratulations!

I'm a fan of the pre model 27's, and have also noticed an in-
crease in the number of blue ones for sale on the various gun
auction and sales sites. I would imagine people are taking ad-
vantage of the large price increases over the last year and a half
to cash in. Can't blame them. My biggest struggle is to resist the
urge to add a blue pre-27 to my pre-27 nickel revolver, and save
my $$ for a nice pre war HD, or another nice Triple Lock. I also
would like to acquire a nice Registered Magnum, but I think I
would need to win the Mega Bucks jackpot here in Las Vegas.

Val, you probably remember me cause of the drool I had running down my chin . I've purchased a couple of revolvers from that seller and been happy with each one of them. I didn't see anything else that nice at the show so I settled for a 5 screw combat masterpiece. I may post it later.

That is a great looking pair of 357's. You can't beat the 3.5 inch barrel length in my opinion.
