If I remember correctly, the gun belt worn by Gary Cooper on High Noon also did not have cartridge loops.
Looks to me like the one Purnell Roberts wore.

That's it. because Bonanza was set in the 1860's they apparently wanted the guys to carry more apropriate sixguns and settled on cartridge conversions. Adam had a Colt 1860 conversion. Little Joe an 1851 Navy without an ejector rod. Hoss a Remington which I don't know was converted. Ben a nickel 1875 Remington (not a conversion). They later settled on Colt single actions. It always amazed me that the very people they felt would notice this stuff (like us) wouldn't then notice that they weren't percussion guns at all but conversions which still weren't around in the early 1860's, not to mention the Hollywood fast draw holsters. But, it made for some interesting guns on the show. I mainly wondered how come they wore form fitting slacks all the time and never got dirty, but that's another story.

Now, Joe wore earth-tones. Brown pants and a green shirt. But Adam wore black, and black shows dirt like nobody's business. And Hoss wore a white shirt.
And they never got dirty.

Mary Ann. And about those form fitting slacks. It's a little known fact that the first Men's Wearhouse opened in Virginia City in 1861 and that the well heeled Cartwrights shopped there. It was too expensive for Rowdy Yates and Gil Favor, though.Think he was checking out Little Joe or Adam??

I liked her also. Saw her in person at a Dinner Theater showing The Owl and the Pussycat. That was many moons ago.

I didn't like seeing her get murdered in "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" about that uncaught Texarkana killer. Ben Johnson played "Lone Wolf Gonsales" but with a different name I think.

Well, San diego is spittin' distance and downwind from L.A. where, according to T.V. and movies, being straight is a hate crime. When you swim in a San Diego oil slick that ain't oil. Just "residual" L.A. openmindedness.Sacramento's not that far from San Francisco. Residual fallout or somesuch...
