Yes you are correct George these are pre-war. the H.D.possibly 1940 and the O.D. possibly 1935; the finishes are orginal, iam not certain of the stocks. i may try and have them lettered and see what else we could learn. Love the Outdoorsman. The Coke stocks on it are definitely post war, but very desirable and collectible. The magnas on the HD are also post war. The pre-war stocks would have either been service stocks (most likely if the gun shipped prior to mid 1935) or perhaps magna stocks, if it shipped later than mid 1935.

I have a set of pre war n frame service grips not the magnas, with a high serial number 58185. Which would put them shipped 1939 or 1940.You never can tell what type of grip was on your hd unless you letter the gun.The service grips were a option late in the pre-war run.Mike
