Two Model 41's to Present

Just finished making a couple of presentation boxes for 2 of my Model 41's.
the early one is complete with all the accessories except I need a 8" cleaning rod. The blue box has the 3 piece Olympic weights.

I have two other barrels for the later version, a 7" and a 6" Aikman bbl with a Oakshire red dot.

5 1/2 Aikman bb

Forgive my ignorance but what is a 5 1/2 Aikman bbl?

It's a 6" not 5 1/2" Aikman bbl.

The Aikman barrel: Floyd Aikman, Shallotte, NC, now deceased (2013). A champion bullseye shooter and barrel maker. Used McGowen Micro-groove blanks for his 41 barrels. A 6" bbl with inletted sight rail. Aikman barrels were guaranteed to shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards.

top bbl is the Aikman. It shoots well with CCI Standard ammo.

Very nice job on the display cases. Is that curly maple on the tops?

Those are birds eye maple. A little harder to work with as it is very hard wood and the planer likes to chip out the eyes. Lining the boxes took the most time.
