I had the good fortune to pick up a 627 and a 625 over the last two weeks.

The 627 was new in the box.
I took off the Combats, I really don't like the way they feel, and put on some Hoags.
It's the 5" unfluted. It is no longer NIB, it shoots very well.

The 625 SDS was a grail gun, this one was Magnaported, which is fine especially after I launched a couple of HSM Bear Loads out of her.
Bowen is building me a rear sight since the one that was on it is a problem.
I put a .250 SDM on her, nice and bright.
Also threw a pair of 500 Hoags on her, made a difference.

Now to find a 3" 625 45 Colt and maybe sell the Night Guard..

That's a nice pair of classic handguns! A 627 like yours is perhaps the only S&W revolver I would like to add to my modest collection and I congratulate you on the find. Did yours have a brother or sister laying around? I could also make do with a 6-1/2" barrel...

I bought a 627-0 the moment they hit the shelves back in '89. I too removed the combats. They sit in the original box in pristine shape. I just can't part with them. That is a wonderful revolver.

A very nice pair. Also I'm sure you know this but you could sell the combats quickly on this forum. I like the looks of the combats but prefer Pachmyars when shooting.
