Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

I had almost lost faith.....

Mine arrived today as well. I was not so much concerned with the potential loss of the remitted funds, but with the inability to order additional t-grips. I am hoping this a new beginning and not a parting shot.

And to all the nay sayers and trash talkers when i was taking up for the outfit, and telling them to give them time to get their act together after the owner's death and backorders out the whazzoo already stacked up, this also arrived....

Well, out of 6000 backorders, he now has it trimmed to 2700, and is shipping more out today and tomorrow, making batches of 200 at a time, mostly #1's in polished and black but has to switch off periodically to make them for K-frames and others as well....those of you seeing the t-grip as an investment had better start selling now if you want a profit....and all of you talking "they" as the business goes, it's one guy trying to keep this afloat since his dad died this past fall....from 6000 to 2700, by himself....
Hmmm. A damnable lie I would call it.

I'm glad that Tyler is shipping backorders and I hope they are back for good.

I also wish BK all the best. I think that there is room for both, especially on the S&W forum.

Finally!

Got my 2 #4's ordered in December of 2010!
Thank you Mr. Bryan Matthews, Jr..
Now Reacher (Said Nothing) can get back to saying nothing! :)

I'd stopped checking this thread a couple of months ago after ordering a T-Grip for a Colt Officers Model .38 (Official Police) in early December 2010.

I almost fell over tonight when I discovered an envelope from Tyler in my mailbox with the T-Grip inside!

It fits my revolver very well. My hand, not so much - the spacing of the finger bump is off for me.

While I am very glad to finally get something for my $31.75, I would order from BK if I ever wanted a T-Grip type product again. He stepped up to the plate, took risk and worked hard to come up with a replacement when it looked like all of us had been screwed.

Their last update was 2 weeks ago on Aug 10, 2011.
You'd think after everything that has transpired, the new owner would do a better job and take a minute to update everyone on what is happening as he said he would. It would give people some peace of mind.

Quote from the T-Grip Website:
"I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies for the practices of the previous owners/managers of Tyler. I have made it my priority as the new owner/operator to fill EVERY back order immediately. I will post weekly, my production list of all completed finishes and sizes of T-GRIPS AND TRIGGER SHOES. These updates will continue until appropriate office help can be hired to answer your questions. Address changes have been logged and applied and your letters have been read. Although I am not able to respond to every request, I hope this update and receipt of your orders will be a satisfactory response for now."

To be fair to the new owner of Tyler --

My check cleared three days after I sent it late last year. Earlier this week I received a #1 and #3 just as I had ordered.

It was a long wait but I have received the product that I paid for.

I am late to this thread but for what it is worth I sent them a check in April and it was immediately cashed. I still have not received my two T-Grips I ordered.

Since there is no way to contact them I sent a letter a few days ago asking for an update. If I get a response I will let you know.

Today I received the product that I had ordered.....February 10, 2011. Happy to have received what I ordered and not have to chalk it up to a learning experience.

Just got my #1 Flat Black T-GRIP ordered December 2010. Never did reply to any of my correspondence, but I'm pleased not to have lost my money.

The production schedule on the website was updated late yesterday. I still haven't received the two I'm waiting on. One of them is bronze, so I assume they're holding the whole order until the bronze ones are done.

Tyler T grips Delivered

On 2 February 2011, I ordered two J Frame grip adapters from Tyler. Twenty minutes ago they were delivered and ten minutes ago they were on my M649 and M638. They appear to be the quality of Tlyer grips of the past. The Tyler problem has been resolved.

Update on Tyler Grip Adaptors

Recently Tyler Mfg. has had some internal problems and were thought to be shutting down. However, their internet web site shows new ownership. So I decided to check them out.

I recently bought a S&W Model 10-3 heavy barrel, C571***.
This is the same model of pistol we were issued on a police dept. I served on here in Texas in the early sixties. In addition to the pistol, we were issued a grip adaptor. However, my Model 10-3 did not have a grip adaptor with it. I called numerous gun stores trying to find a grip adaptor, but no luck. It was then I decided to take a chance on the new owner of Tyler Mfg. I mailed my form with the PO money order on August 24 and today, Aug. 30, I received the grip adator in the mail.

Great service and I'm glad to see Tyler Mgf. is back in business. Thought the forum might be interested in this info.

No offense, but I don't categorize a seven month wait as problem resolved. Progress, yes. But I wouldn't call it resolved until all the backorders are filled, and that an order placed today is shipped in less than two weeks. JMHO.

Maybe I should have expounded more. It appears the Tyler Company may have resolved their manufacturing and shipping problems to the extent that they are filling backorders. They have presented, to me, that they did not abscond with my money. IMHO
