hey everyone,

I ordered some tyler grips. I know they say on the order form it takes around 6-8 weeks but I am getting impatient. it has been about that time. I'm hopeful they will be in the mailbox soon. can anyone who has ordered from them share the time you had to wait? thanks.

I ordered a T Grip mid-July. ETA unknown. I've read that they show up when the show up. No way to tell. Apparently its a small shop and they make them in batches as the orders come in.

Guess we can just wait. I don't think its worth badgering them on the phone.

Even used ones are hard to find.

Good shooting.

I own several & they're great!! Well worth the wait. I think it's still a family business, and since revolvers aren't the rage they were when the company started decades ago, production has tapered off to say the least...

I say let's just be greatful it's not another product now made over seas or by inferrior techniqes, and be thankful we can still get the genuine article...

you'll be able to enjoy & use them for years to come once they come in...

like I say, they're worth the wait..

I wrote this once before in response a similar question....

I sent Tyler a check for 3 K frame T's on June 2nd. The check hit my bank on June 11th. I received the T grips about the 2nd week in July.

Just for comparison...

I sent Smith & Wesson a check for a letter on my K-22 Combat Masterpiece on June 2nd. The check hit the bank on June 10th.
I'm still waiting for my letter....

I bet I'll be happier with the T grips than I will with what Mr. Jinks has to say. But the anticipation is KILLING ME!!!!!

I placed an order 3 weeks ago for my 642-1. In this day and age it is a little aggravating to have to wait so long. However, it's not an emergency or anything. I just hate waiting.

I ordered a bronze t-grip back in mid-April. This week I called and he apologized, said they're extremely busy but has a large group of bronze packaged up and ready to be shipped out (sounds like they do them in batches). Said I should receive mine sometime next week. Very nice, and I really don't care about the wait....I just called to make sure it wasn't lost somewhere between us. You will need to be patient, but well worth the wait!

I've ordered

from them on three occasions in the last two years. First two were 3-5 weeks but the last time took about 9 weeks. I suggest you call them at least once after 4 or 5 weeks to make sure they haven't misplaced your order. It is a family business and the gal is about to start nursing school so delivery could get worse.

all that said, it's still agreat product and worth the wait!!!!

Yes, they're overbooked and overworked with minimum staff. Mine were ordered in early April and I got them in late June after calling Brian who will readily admit they are way behind (8 weeks at least) in production.

thanks for all the responses. I know it will be worth the wait but yeah the waiting kills me. the thing is I am going to be moving soon and I was hoping they would arrive before that. hope they forward these packages. I know I will place more orders but I'm thinking I will probably have to designate at least one, "my itinerant t grip". once i get settled in after the move and my cash becomes available again I am certain my gun buying will far surpass any t grips I could possibly acquire. strange.

I used the T-grip adapter for years until I finally switched to the 4013. Give me a Model 36 or 19 with a round butt and factory wood grips, a clipdraw or Barami Hip Grip and I'm ready to hit the streets again. However, all the accessories for carry revolvers are getting hard to find and the price is going up. Looked for a set of standard old fashioned factory grips and saw prices up to fifty bucks. Hence, the decision to go back to the 4013. I just don't like most of the "rubber" grips common today, but I settled for plastic, so I guess senility really is setting in.

I can imagine. I have never tried a gun with these inserts but they look like they will be the answer for me. the j frame is really too small for my long but average size fingers. gripping a model 34 with factory magnas it's nearly impossible to get a decent hold. I have pretty much the same problem with the model 65 using factory grips. if this works out as I am expecting I will look for a model 36. I was thinking they would even go well on a model 28-2 with the magna grips. the n frame fits my hands fine but with the magna grips I think the t will give me a better hold. the magnas alone seem to want to force my hands too high.

The company is not in the Tyler family anymore but it is still a small operation. One guy making the product and a couple of gals handling orders and shipping them out. I have several of their trigger shoes which work well for non target trigger guns. I even have one on a 1911. Well crafted and worth the wait.

I have an update or sorts. called the company about 3 weeks ago. they were very nice and researched my order. they found it and told me they would put a rush on it and that I should expect the order in 10 days. if not then I should call them back. still waiting and didn't call because I am trying to be as patient as I can. will have to make another call. we are past the 3 months point. at what point do I need to consider this a loss and request a refund. it's not like they are holding on to my life savings, I really don't care about the money. I want my order but I am starting to doubt whether these guys can follow through on this. they really seem like nice people and I want to give them my business but I sort of feel like I am contributing to charity with my patience.

Ordered and paid for my t-grip 112 days ago. Numerous calls, same excuses, same promises,..still no t-grip.

The people (Brian and Anna) are nice and seem sincere, but the proof is in the pudding.

The wait continues.....

One would think that in this economy, some jobless entrepreneur would step up and start making a similar competitive product. It's not as if there's a lot involved with manufacturing a grip adapter.

Wait long enough and those Thais kicking out the wood stocks by the thousands will catch on and start making 'em. They're no dummies.

There was a similar thread within the last year, and I'll repeat my comments, which were echoed by other posters: The quality of todays T-grip product is very spotty. I received a Python model with a large bubble in the black finish. A S&W in the same order had the copper strip mounted very low, so that the top of the T-grip wobbles back and forth. On another one the copper strip is not centered where it is attached, so that one side barely fits under the grip, and the other side is much longer than it needs to be. I don't buy new ones anymore, but will pay a premium for the original versions.

Being in a couple of one-man businesses myself (one of which, court reporting, sometimes requires me to spend ALL of my time (as in 16-18 hrs. a day) for a week or two on a single project), I can appreciate why the T-Grip folks aren't shipping 'em out every day. In their dealings with me they have always been friendly and honest, but they do take their time -- and it's worth the wait.

Noted.

But when the customer (yours, truly) is constantly being informed that his order is "being shipped in the next few days" and said product never arrives, it merits concern and establishes poor business trade.

It could be worse, if they sold the business to Ford's Refinishing it would probably take about 9 months to get them.Be patient.
