After a quick look at Tyler’s web site I’m a bit confused. At one point they mention ordering from the original manufacturer. Are there two entities making the grips?

Also I’ve read of folks having difficulty getting their orders. Is that currently a problem?

Is there a source for them without ordering directly, perhaps someone like Midway?

Thanks.

I ordered one from the company within the past year. It actually was surprisingly delivered pretty quick. I think the confusion, though not certain, is that family members now run the company. The only other source I know of is EBay, but they will be expensive. Good luck!

And many comments in those threads are from people who have had zero problem getting orders.

You just will have to be patient.

It is a one man band that doesn't keep a ton of inventory on hand. In todays world of have to have it yesterday they don't operate that way.

Have ordered probably 10 times and you just need to sit back and wait. They show up when they make a batch of what you ordered.

Have you thought about going with a BK brand adapter?
Made by a member here, costs around $30 and you’ll probably have them in a week.

+1 for BK.

Back in 2019 I ordered from an adapter for my 27-2 from Tyler T and despite being told that it shipped (4 months later), I never received it. Proceed with caution when dealing with them as they’ll never get my business again.

Tyler is one of the most inconsistent Company's I have ever dealt with! Sometimes I have gotten what I ordered in a month, sometimes it takes 5 months - strange company! At the end of the day I have always gotten my order and the quality was descent but it's always an adventure!!

If you want one quick, shop eBay.

If you want a grip adapter that you'll probably get before you die, then order from Tyler. If you want a grip adapter inside of a week from a company that respects its customers, order from BK.

For every person that said they got their Tyler adapter "fairly quickly" (whatever that measurement is), you'll find dozens (hundreds?) of people that finally cancelled their order after waiting more than a year with no word from Tyler.

You may find this useful in considering the available options for grip adapters:

T-grip-adapter-comparison-thread

There have been many threads here on Tyler, and the long waits. If you want one, you just need to order and wait. I find it funny that many here will gladly wait for custom holsters or grips, but complain about Tyler. Tyler's communication is terrible, though... that is a fact.

But, if you want a grip adapter from the original molds, and can't find one on eBay, or don't want to pay those prices, Tyler is the only option.

BK is an excellent alternative if you're OK with a plastic version. Great communication and quick shipping.

The 'Robertson Trading Post' versions don't fit as well, at least not the ones I have.

Even though I posted about Tyler T Grip, I have a couple of BK adapters. The reason for wanting a Tyler is that they are made specifically for round or square butt frames. It seems that the fit on my round butt frame with the BK is not quite as good as Tyler. The BK is acceptable and usable and I will order from them again.

I think I have posted this before, not sure on this forum or not.
Ordering Tyler T grips:
Send check with order.
Check will be cashed.
Don't expect any correspondence.
Check being cashed is only way to know they received order.
Sit back and wait from a couple of weeks to a couple of years.
You will then be the owner of a Tyler T grip.
