This is one of the British pre-WW II .38/200s, also called a "pre-Victory" model. From the photos it may have its original finish; the earliest ones in this series were bright blue like yours, then matte blue, then the wartime Black Magic finish. Most of the refinished ones no longer have the case-hardened hammer and trigger, and were often converted to .38 Special. Enjoy!

this one is 38sw I had to order dies so I could reload for it.thanks for the info.I was told by who I got it from that they thought it was a reblue. but the markings are still sharp and clear not drug out.I had it since 2000 and I have oak grips that I made for it.those are just old grips that I stuck on it for the picture.

Interestingly, those are the exact type of stocks that came originally on this gun - checkered, silver medallions. What are the odds?

it came with the smooth wood military grips but some one had carved them into a round but look and messed them up.
