Serial Number V1628XX.
The one in the photos above was issued to Aviation Machinist Mate Burton L. Morgan in Air Group 1, VT-1 on the WWII Carrier U.S.S. Bennington. He was the third crewman on a TBM Avenger. The holster is marked VT-1, Torpedo One and his name. Planes from the U.S.S. Bennington participated in the sinking of the Japanese battleship Yamato and also overflew the the surrender ceremonies on the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

Very nice USN Victory Model. The cartridge "sleeve" is an unusual field modification. They were made by the ship's sailmakers usually and were not official issue.
