No. Most UFC events are 9-11 fights. On a PPV, you are guaranteed 5 fights. However, if there are is a finish or two on the main card, you almost always get 1 or 2 under card fights. Most UFCs have shown 6 fights. Many have shown 7. A few great ones have shown 8 or 9.

Sorry to hear you won't be able to see the fight. You must have some very important other plans to not be able to watch UFC 100. Short of a date with Beyonce, there is nothing that could cause me to miss UFC 100.

the wife's birthday gathering.

plans have changed. the gathering was moved to the previous day!!!!

I should make the fight now.

AnimalMother, I am in line with all of your picks. Second time that's happened, haha.

I am really excited for the GSP fight, and the Henderson fight, but also for Jon Jones. I was very impressed the last time I saw him fight. He looks to be a fresh face in the LH division.

Can't wait for UFC 100!

"Since I am going on a date with Beyonce that evening I would appreaciate a morning update! I would ask for real-time txts but you know, I'll be busy with Beyonce. Not to get off the topic of UFC but have you seen this video?" jeepjeepwhat

Yes, I've seen that video. I've been a big fan for a long time.

Glad to hear that you can now catch the fight.

The Countdown should be on later in the week (on Thurs if I recall).

There was a lot of build up of the Mir/Lesnar fight. Brock is looking for revenge. I found the segment on Mir/Lesnar entertaining. Both are training hard. Both are talking a lot of trash.

I've been looking closer at the Henderson/Bisping fight. I just can't see Bisping wining this fight. I checked his UFC record:

Win Chris Leben Decision (Unanimous) UFC 89 - Bisping vs. Leben 10/18/2008 3 5:00
Win Jason Day TKO (Punches) UFC 85 - Bedlam 6/7/2008 1 3:42
Win Charles McCarthy TKO (Arm Injury) UFC 83 - Serra vs. St. Pierre II 4/19/2008 1 5:00
Loss Rashad Evans Decision (Split) UFC 78 - Validation 11/17/2007 3 5:00
Win Matt Hamill Decision (Split) UFC 75 - Champion vs. Champion 9/8/2007 3 5:00
Win Elvis Sinosic TKO (Punches) UFC 70 - Nations Collide 4/21/2007 2 1:20
Win Eric Schafer TKO (Punches) UFC 66 - Liddell vs Ortiz II 12/30/2006 1 4:24
Win Josh Haynes TKO (Punches) UFC - Ultimate Fighter 3 Finale 6/24/2006 2 4:14

The Hamill fight was a joke. I couldn't believe the judges ruled in Bisping's favor.

AM,

can you get us your best review of the GSP fight.

they say his opponent is much stronger.

I am still a GSP fan, but could this fighter be his match.

I know he beat the crap out of hughes, but recent hughes seems to be off his game.

thanks in advance

"can you get us your best review of the GSP fight." SW CQB 45

Sure.

To start with, I would note that sherdog talked to a number of fighters and trainers and asked them their pick. Here are the results:

Pros who picked St. Pierre: 20
Pros who picked Alves: 13

If I were placing a bet on this fight I would have to take GSP.

Thiago "Pitbull" Alves is as big muscle / weight wise as you can get at effectively fight at 170 lbs. GSP is also a big 170 lbs fighter. Not sure who is really stronger between the two. We won't really know until the fight and then we will see who is moving who around. Alves may look bigger muscle / physique wise, but that is not a true indicator of functional strength.

Alves has world class stand-up but so does GSP. I don't really see one having a clear edge over the other. Either one of these guys could get knocked out in a toe-toe smoker.

I do, however, see a clear wrestling advantage for GSP. I also see GSP as the more seamless fighter. GSP, like Anderson Silva and Machida, has the ability to effortless switch levels and make transitions. Combine this with GSP's Olympic level wrestling ability and I think GSP keeps his belt.

Jon Fitch beat Alves. GSP beat Fitch.

Very good event. The Henderson vs. Bisping fight was one of the greatest fights I have ever seen. I almost did a spit take with my beer when I saw Henderson land that bomb. Bisping got his mouth shut. Talk trash now, *******! Henderson will surely get a fat KO of the Night Bonus.

I''d say I predicted the GSP fight. GSP is such an athlete. His wrestling is really world class and that is amazing for someone who did not start wrestling until he got into MMA and who did not really start to study until a few years ago.

That punch knocked Bisping's head into next week and was then followed up by that brutal flying punch on the ground. Definitely KO of the night!
Although I figured he'd win, Lesnar again proves why I DON'T like him. Wouldn't even touch gloves at the start of the fight and then proceeded to talk trash for the whole post fight interview. I cannot wait until some guy comes and knocks him off his pedestal, ala Bisping. I do like how Mir jumped right back up and was in his face and they had to be seperated. The thing is, Lesnar obviously had some fear in him because he just wanted to lay 265+ lbs on Mir instead of fight him.

I agree, the Henderson knockout was awesome. I think Bisping is asking if anyone got the license plate to the truck that hit him!

GSP, TOTALY AWESOME!

Mir vs Lesnar- I will bow to Lesnar that his size and strength won the fight. I will want to see a fight III as I want Mir to sop up blood from previous fights with Lesnar. I do not care for his unsportsmanship conduct and crap talking.

In fact, I want Couture to have a re-match.

Or lets get Corwin some serious training coaches so he cant put a 5X knockout on Lesnar and shut his mouth.

and whats the deal with Bud Light and Lesnar? no $$$$$ so you knock them down. I drank Bud Light last night.

Mir was very fit last night, in fact the fittest I have ever seen. he weighed in at 245 but he was probably over 250.

Lesnar weighed in at 265, but that animal was probably 280 +.

I too am waiting for Lesnar to be removed as the champion.

Mir was fit but did you see how much tape was on him?! I don't think his was body was 100% even though he looked very solid.
