***Uh oh!!!*** 27-2 3.5" not such a steal after all!!!

Beautiful find. Congratulations. May I ask what grips belong on the gun?
I am not a fan of the ones on there either. Dont like the feel of the N frame or the K frame combats from S&W. liquidated all of mine llong ago

That is truly an amazing deal. A big congratulations to you! I'd like to add a 27-2 to my collection but I just don't want to pay what it takes to get it done. Oh well, I do have two 3.5 inch pre 27s that will just have to satisfy me until my lucky day comes around.

I forgot to add that I can't wait to see your 27 dressed in appropriate stocks! I really dislike the SB Combats. They came on my Md 16 and they are now safely stored in the box and off the gun.

Depending on how it was ordered or offered either the magna or standard target grips would be correct for this one. I actually like the feel of the standard targets on 4" N frames. This one I'm not sure, possibly the magna with a t-grip. The search is one for grips to match the condition of the gun.

That's a wonderful gun, and a super deal!! That's my favorite barrel length for the 27 or pre 27, or even a RM, (which I've never had), and I'm with you, I would look for stocks that would have come with the gun.

Mine is a 27-2 as well, and it came with target stocks, but I find these a little large for my hands, so I kept them, but put ivory magnas with a Tyler T Grip on the gun. I like the way that that combination looks and feels.

Best Regards, Les

I have a pair of those same stocks I need to sell too (smile). I agree with you, change those stocks. Nice gun other wise. Congratulations on the acquisition.

Yours probably looked like a good match for GSP's RM.

Les, Just found a gorgeous set of Grashorn's stag grips with medallions. Now I need to find the t-grip. The last time I ordered one it took almost 2 months and I'm the impatient type :D.

Have a safe and Happy 4th! Steve

Look at / Get the BK grip adapter...... the double clip design is much better in my opinion. I've used the Tylor T-grip and have used several sets of the old Pachmyer T-grips

I looked at that one on Friday morning but had too many other pressing issues to address before the holiday.
You got a great deal and I'm glad one of "us" got it!
Way to go.

I think a nice set of Indian Sanbar Stags, maybe a nice amber set would look the best. [that's what I have on mine and they look great]................................M*

It's ok for you, congrats. I don't go under 4" barrels. The 5", 5 1/2", 6", 6 1/2" barrels is my sweet spot.

I guess I'm getting old:eek:;).. My thoughts have changed, it's a 27-2, 3 1/2" at $700.00 even if I knew it was a factory refinish I would have jumped on it!

It's still one of, the if not THE finest gun, S&W ever produced:D and you can carry and shoot it as if it had an original finish.
And I have been lucky I've had just about model they made, including a first year RM :D
Now go enjoy that gun.. :D:D:D

I think that even with the factory refinish, you still got great deal. Sell off the combat grips and you have a great 3.5" model 27 that you can shoot all you want for under $500. My opinion of course. That and $5 will buy you a cup of joe.
