I had an "incarcerated, right inguinal hernia about 40 years ago. Didn't know I had it until after an evenening of festivities I started getting nauseated. Went home an found the twins had grown to the size of a softball.
The surgeon at first tried to avoid surgery by trying to force my intestines back to where the belong, by squeezing them real hard. Lord it hurt.
I don't know how it relates to an umbilical hernia, but it's anywhere near it, do not wait. Repeat; do not wait.
