Has anyone used the UMC in a shield 9mm? I have an opportunity to pick up a 1000 round bulk pack but dont want to have that much ammo if it doesn't run well.

It's as good as or better than anything else out there for range work.

I'm finding out I like the UMC better. Shoots cleaner than the WWB.

My range instructor loaded a magazine for me once, alternating UMC with WWB (both 115 gr). It is amazing how much harder the WWB shot.
If you have some of both try it and see what I mean.

I don't know about the Shield, but my 9mm UZI does not like the yellow box UMC 9mm. At least 2 out of 10 rounds didn't have enough oomph to push the bolt back all the way, & not eject the round. I have never had this problem using WWB in my UZI. It's like 8 out of 10 rounds had enough powder to push the bolt back all the way, but 2 out of 10 rounds didn't. So I returned the UMC to the store, & replaced it with WWB. Now maybe the Shield doesn't require the oomph that an UZI does to extract the round, but if there's that much difference between rounds, I will not use it. GARY

I've been buying the UMC 9mm 250rd bulk box for $70ish and running them through my Shield every range trip. Havent had a single problem with those at all.

I've also put some of the same UMC through the Shield in .40 just to see how well those work also. Still no problems, either which one i use.

UMC works fine in my Shield.
The only stuff I don't use in my Shield is Steel cased Euro-Junk, or Blazer Aluminum.

Cool thanks guys!!! Just got back from the store and I must say 1000 rounds of shinny 9mm is a pretty sight.... I just might head to the range tonight and celebrate:D

Just remember...
Just because you got 1000 round box, it doesn't mean you HAVE to shoot 'em all up tonight. LOL :D

Congrats on the 1000 round box. Just to let you know, I put 100 rounds of Rem UMC through my Shield last weekend with no issues at all.

I had a few FTE's with UMC when my Shield was new, due to short cycling. I've shot a few boxes since with no problems. Now up to 900 straight rounds of all different ammo without a malfunction. I'd happily buy UMC if I could get a good price.

About 160 rounds fired and had 1 stovepipe. Out of 200 rounds of blazer brass 1 ejection issue. I am at the 600-700 round point and thinking if the gun needed to be broken in it would be by now.
