Unbelieavably High .22 Bulk Ammo!

Matter of supply and demand. If everyone would just cool it for a while on the .22 ammo and not hoard it like the world was coming to an end this ammo shortage will settle down. It always has eventually. Maybe it wont be as cheap as it was, but it certainly wont be as high as we are seeing now. Shoot some of what you got without fear of being able to ever buy it again. This shortage wont last forever.

Totally agree. No reason to run around every day and buy your limit of 2 boxes of ammo. We are doing this to ourselves. People need to calm down and buy what you need. Not what you want. The shortage will go away. Dont buy it and then turn around and sell it to the next guy on ARMSLIST for 5 times what you paid for it! PEOPLE NEED TO RELAX.

Point exactly. Just like I tell all these other ying yangs wondering where all the ammo is. There is no shortage in any ammo people, especially 22lr ammo like everyone thinks. Go on gun broker, there is over 2 million rounds for sale on there. The reason why you are not finding it in stores is due to the greed and opportunity for the ammo wholesalers and gun shops to just take all there shipment of top rounds like 9mm, 45, 38, 22lr, 7.62 , 223, etc and sell it on gun broker for 200-400 % profit margins, plain and simple. If all the dumb idiot people buying ammo and guns right now , would just stop for a couple months, ammo would go back to what it used to be 6 months ago or even lower since they would have a **** ton of extra ammo they are sitting on.

Our local Sportsmans Whse gets a supply truck in once a week. I was in the store tuesday and guys were lined up waiting to put the ammo out. I waited for about an hour and a half and got 2 100rd boxs of CCI mini mag, their limit. They dont mark up their prices. Probably 150 guys were in line and I suspect all of the ammo they got in, about 5 shopping carts full were gone. It is going to take a long time for this to work thru.

What was their price for the CCI ammo?

Cabelas had the CCI Mini Mags today 100 round box for $7.99 limit of 1 box.

Like I said above, I have a lot of .22LR ammo and I think I should put 5 or 6 boxes up on Gunbroker. I really need a new TV and I could buy a 55" big screen if i only sell 6 boxs @$100. Considering I paid only $10 for each that would boy me a TV for only $60 out of my pocket!!!! I just can't bring myself to sell any of the .22 ammo I have. I know I'm being dumb since all the crazies on gunbroker are begging to buy me a brand new big screen TV!

Any shop or individual, trying to cash in, in a situation like this,is surely scum and not worth dealing with for any reason. I would not give my money to these thieves under any circumstance. It will be just a matter of a few weeks, before everything goes back to their normal prices. All it is is that the panic has raised the sales up,and emptied the shelves. That does not in any way shape or form mean that the shelves won't be filled back up again. DON"T GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE HYPOCRITES.We as Americans should stick together and united in these situations, not f--k each other.

We are 3 months into this shortage. Guns will easly recover but ammo will not because its consumed. This is not the first shortage and failure to learn from the past can be quite painfull.

Granted the price of ammo has gone up but that is nothing to worry about. Two possible outcomes exist. One is prices continue up thus making these present day prices "cheap ammo prices". Then the other outcome is prices drop. If prices drop you buy more ammo and "dollar cost average" what you paid for the ammo which lowers the average cost of the ammo.

I forgot a third option. You can call people names, whine like a spoiled brat and post your displeasure on gun forums or you can just adapt and overcome the present situation.

Anywho I'm off to stand in line 2 hours before Academy opens so I can have first dibs on ammo that came in. Yea I can get only one box each per caliber, a max of 3 calibers per day per person but its better than nothing and over time adds up. Its been a pain but after 3 months I now have a nice little stash that will get me through the year. Practice time will take a hit but I now have ammo for matches and the occasional practice session.

Anyone putting a price tag of over $100 on a box of 500 .22LR rounds is just wrong but when you list the box of ammo on gunbroker with a starting price of only one cent or one dollar and the bidders there run the price up over $100 you are doing nothing wrong. If I were to list any .22 LR ammo on any auction site I would place a starting bid of only $1 on the box and let the crazies do all the work.

I highly doubt this is going to last much longer, it just can't. Sooner or later the panic people are going to run out of money and the prices will have to drop.
