Ok, I have a question. I am in the market for my first gun. I hope to get it next month. The gun is a S&W SD9VE and it is new in the box and I would be buying it from a friend face to face in a private sale. Now that gun comes with two 16 round magazines. Now what happens if a national limit is placed on the magazine capacity to 10 rounds? My state shot down the attempt on a state level so we do not have a capacity limit in my state. So when I get that gun from my friend next month, what happens if the magazines are capped?

last time (1994) anything already in the public could remain there...hence the term "pre-ban"...I can't see them ever taking them up (not feasible), but then again, look what New York is doing...

I would go for it if the deal is right though...may be your last chance...

I hope money will allow me to get it in a couple of weeks. He is holding the gun for me.

Unless otherwise clearly stated in any proposed ban, firearms and accessories already in civilians' possession would be grandfathered in and would not be affected by a new ban.

If you are worried about having a "High Cap " mag, simply take it apart and place a spacer in the spring. Have had a spacer in my hunting AR mag for years to decrease it to the F&G dept 5 rd max for hunting.

If I'm not mistaken, IF a ban were to be re instated, you can be grandfathered in...... But if I read it right, long day fellas.... You would have to register it under the NFA?

If that was the case good luck with that!
