Unfluted Cyl

I have a couple I can show.

This 657-4 is as tight as any S&W I've ever owned. I am looking forward to getting to the range after deer season.

The scoped 657-4 is a known tack-driver. At 100 yards it's 3" (or less) grouping out of a 7.5" barrel (off a good rest). I'm hoping to take a deer this month with this gun.

This Model 29-4 has a 5" tube. I have not shot it much as I just picked it up last month. I hope to shoot this one with several different load this winter. Got it at Cabela's.

This M25-7 is a great shooter. I take it to the range pretty regularly.

No one said they had to be a S&W...

How about a U.S. Arms Corp. "Abilene"...I got this a couple weeks ago and I can tell you it is a very accurate gun. It's .44 Mag and can handle any Ruger load. It has an unusual barrel length...8.5 inches.

This is my wife's Ruger Super Blackhawk. It has a 7.5 inch tube and has killed a number of deer.

I like the unfluted cylinders as much as the next guy!!

My new toy...686-M

This is the first 6" 686 with silhoette sights and a unfluted cylinder that I have seen. I have one that I bought new in 1996, but it has a fluted cylinder. Can you tell us more about the "-M" ?

Smith 25-7 .45 Colt and a Freedom .454 Casull

I sure like the beefy no-flute look.........................

I just put one of these on layaway tonight, The guy at the shop was told by the previous owner (also a former employee at said shop) that there werent two many of these made, any idea on numbers made or maybe they just didnt sell.

Should be a 2003 model, an RSR exclusive, but was standard with Hogue ruber grips, the Mag-Na-Ported version had fluted cylinder and Altimont grips. You will have to call S&W to get numbers on how many built.

Thanks I realize I didn't give you to much info to go on.The gun has the origional grips with lanyard loop, box and the test fired case in a little envelope with a test date of '05 cant remember month and date.Ive tried to attach a pic if it works you can see it .It will be about a month till I bring it home and will be my first 44

The only ones with the lanyard in 3" unfluted were Mag-Na-Port models according to the book Built in 1996-1999. I will be glad when you get the gun and you can give a us a dash number and ser# to narrow it down.

It started as a 29-3 with the adjustable front sight I bought it new and never really took to the sight system.

I had Andy Horvath make the slab sided barrel, tune it, make grips, and added LPA fiber optics. It is very accurate balances nicely and easy to shoot.

The LPA sights are great I am going to put a set on a 25-7 I have coming from one of the forum members.

Len, I really like the barrel and would be interested in having one of my 686s reworked to look like yours. Would you mind sending me a PM with Andy Horvath's contact info and approx. cost for the barrel work?

Thanks!
