Just got notification from Midway that they had Unique powder in stock. Ordered two pounds at $36.99 a pound, shipping and Hazmat fees bring that up to about $50 a pound. I moderated that by also ordering some .22 ammo in the same order.

Unique is my favorite of all powders, I have many pet loads for .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 9MM and .44 Magnum.

Maybe soon we'll be able to go into a gun shop and find the shelves filled with powder and primers, till then internet order is the way to go.

Edited: looks like "Power Pistol" and Bullseye are also in stock.

Thank you very much! I just ordered two pounds each of Bullseye and Unique.

There is a two pound limit per item.

Thanks for the heads-up. Amazing how fast tax, shipping, and hazmat add another 50% to the price of powder/primers.

Been my experience lately that when buying retail at a LGS we seem to be covering all these costs just the same. Seems a time when the hazmat at retail seemed to be amortized across what was possibly a large shipment to the LGS. Not so much anymore.

That's a good point. I think most gun stores are receiving smaller shipments these days so it makes sense those shipping costs would compound. At my store it used to come in on pallets. Now it comes in a few cases at a time. Same with primers.

I want to throw out a "thank you" too. I ordered 2lbs and 2lbs of h110, which I was almost out of. The 2lb limit is rough though, but maybe thats why they still had some.
2lbs are better than nolbs I guess.

Picked up a pound myself. Added some other stuff to get free shipping but the $20 haz mat fee does run it up a bit. I have asked in half a dozen places for Unique, without luck, so thanks for the heads up.

For $36.99 they can keep it…….I'm still using Unique from the early 70's that I paid $3.14 per pound!q

Well the stores that receive powders with hazmat costs have to pay more than you think. The hazmzt fee will cover up to 70 Lb total...or it used to be that way. When I was in business that was the way it was. I used to pick up my own powder from distributors. If I got more than a 100 pounds I was supposed to placard my vehicle. Jerry's Sport Center in Pa provided stickers. Robert's Shell Company in Vineland,NJ delivered a lot of powder to me

I guess if you already have some then no, you dont need theirs but others are out, dont have any, are low, or just want to try it but cant find any, and $36 per is about normal sadly so.....
Plus, Im supposibg you have not looked for any Alliant powder lately? Its all pretty rare with Unique being the most elusive.

I dont think are being robbed of their $36, maybe 5 years agi yes and certainly during the '70's they would have been but not TODAY.
