I think you have an early version of what became the Model 35. Amounts to a M-34 Kit Gun, but with six-inch bbl.
You get higher velocity and a longer sight radius. But you'll probably have to order a custom holster, as they were never too popular. Most who wanted a six-inch bbl. opted for the heavier K-22.
Your fuzzy photos leave me puzzled about the barrel. I think the frame is an early J. The trigger guard was later enlarged and I think you have the short grip frame.
This could also be a re-barrelled Kit Gun. I can't see the hammer sharply enough to be sure about it, either. There were several early hammers on the Chief's Special, and I haven't seen enough Kit Guns from the early 1950's to know if they were the same, apart from being altered to use .22 ammo. Most .22's that I've seen from then were on I-frames.
