In the late 90s I bought a K - Comp. and have never seen another one like it. 19-7 w/ 3" barrel, mat finish, SINGLE pro-port vents on each side of barrel, Lew Horton Serial # and also separate # 00023 on frame, set screw in trigger, and case colored trigger and BOBBED hammer. Originally came w/ Pachmayr rubber grips. Feels and shoots great but I have not seen another one in any of the K-Comp threads w/ pictures. Just curious. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

I am not an expert on this but, Id guess that gun is not a true K comp (not that that matters) It is a Lew Horton Special with a Magna Ported Barrel. I would guess that the stamping on the is the standard SW logo not the Performance center logo. With all that being said some of the LH guns are very short run and quite collectable.

We need pics!! :)

Does it look anything like this one?

There were 55 of these made for Lew Horton in 1995, product code 100701, s/n LHA0001~0055.
You have 23 or is that a separate five digit assembly number?

That's four I have seen. Only 51 left. :)

I remember trying to get my hands on one of those 3" barrels before they were ported, but Jim Rae said whoosh they were gone. Every time I think Ive got all I want , another one pops up. Man, you guys are killing me. But its a nice death. That is beautiful.Bob

This is very interesting!
I have read here many times that the only factory porting is centered in the front of the barrel. Side porting is aftermarket...

Seems like this is an exception :)

Very nice piece BTW!

I have one of those revolvers also, identical to whats in the picture including the magnaporting.

Well if any anyone ever wants to get rid of one of these let me know. I have been right on the verge of having a 14-7 R/B cut down to 3" and redone by Bowen. Or using a spare 14-5 barrel I have cut down on a 19, 2 1/2" for the same , although I dont shoot much magnum stuff its nice to have the option.
AND then I see this model, I just never liked the power ports, but I like the looks of this barrel with the magnaporting.
Looks like I will be on a quest or gunshowing for a while, fun to have one to look for. Thanks Guys Happy New Year.
