I saw a model 10-5 I believe, this past Sunday. It was blued with a 4" barrel, and it had PC stocks. The gun was in like new condition. The unusual things about it were, the S&W stamp was small, and it was stamped on the right side of the frame. On the left side was a word or symbol stamped in Arabic. How rare is that. The owner said her deceased husband was once offered 13K and declined it. I did do a search for Iranian model 10 and did see some of the threats but none mentioned markings of this type.

It must be for a foreign contract...maybe ordering a S&W letter should get you an answer. It could be a contract overrun and sold commercially or a bring back by a member of the military.

I think getting the factory letter should get the answers.

Per the 3rd Edition of Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, interpreted
as "National Police Force of Iran". Possibly several hundred delivered.

It's worth some money but not 13K IMHO.
