Upcoming visit to Battle of the Bulge sites...

My dad was there 78th? had never ending stories , had to take boots off froze corpse and stuff with straw to fit. He had hypothermia and almost lost his toes to frost bite. He was is transportation , truck was stuck in the mud pulling a cannon .Germans came out of the woods and surrendered thinking they were setting up to shell them , many more when I can remember

Had 2 uncles at the bulge , one in the 2ndID and the other in the 99th ID. I had another uncle in the 83rd ID that was wounded prior to the bulge and dear old dad was on his way to Europe as a replacement in the 17th AB

I have a friend who is named for his uncle -- his dad's big brother -- who was in the 17th Airborne Division, and was killed in the Battle of the Bulge. He was just 19 years old, and is buried at the Ardennes American Military Cemetery outside of Liège, Belgium.

I'm happy to hear your family members survived...

Thank you, unfortunately that all had issues after the war.
