My wife is a little recoil averse, and has some grip issues when operating the slide on most semi-auto pistols. We shopped around, and she finally decided upon a Ruger LCR .22 Magnum...and she can shoot it well! The only issue she has with it is seeing the front sight. I installed a Lasermax red laser, which helped, but it didn't help with seeing the front sight post. I checked around, and XS Sights is the only company I could find that made replacement front sights for the Ruger LCR in .22/.22 Magnum. I went ahead and ordered an Ember Standard Yellow Dot front sight, and installed it yesterday. The XS kit came with the sight, a roll pin, and some thread locker. The installation went smoothly, until I was finishing tapping in the roll pin. Suddenly, the "yellow dot" became a "white dot". The tiny "yellow dot" had popped off the sight, and luckily I found it on my workbench. I glued it back over the "white dot", and am hoping it will hold up when shooting. I notified XS Sights of what had transpired (along with some pics), and let them know that I was a little disappointed in their product. I also told them that if the yellow dot comes off again, I'll be looking for a warranty replacement. It's not expensive, just a little frustrating. We'll see what happens!
I still have not received a reply from XS Sights' customer service or tech service regarding the issue with my Ruger front sight, so I contacted them again. Not sure if this is a generic problem that XS needs to address, or just an isolated issue with the one I installed.
