I'm sure this is an often kicked around topic....sorry.

Trying to make up my mind which way to go.

I love the full lug and finish of the 625JM. My concerns are that the trigger will not be a sweet as the PC version.

The PC version would need some new shoes right away...not really fond of the factory models. I'm also not crazy about the finish.

I should have stated that both are the current models listed on the S&W website.....both in 4".The JM is also $100 cheaper, too.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm leaning towards the JM version.

What say you?

Nutsforsmiths....your 625PC may have just swayed me over. I needed to see it with those grips to clear it up for me. That looks great. The trigger sounds like what I'd want, too. We are struggling for a solid local gunsmith....better get it right from the factory. It's sad, as this market could support it.
The black controls really stand out now that I can see it with black/grey grips. Great looking gun!!!!!!!

I can't speak for the Performance Center gun. I have a JM and it's a fine revolver. However, if they've worked on the trigger I wouldn't know it. The trigger on mine is good, not superb, and certainly the equivalent of lots of modern N frames that I've fired. But, there's nothing that makes it stand out.

Sir.
I have a 625 PC. I thought there were several versions of 625 PC's. You know which one you are comparing the JM against?

i have the 625jm from the performance center...has the 5.5"barrel...best of both worlds and is a tack driver...i don't think they made a lot of these

This is my PC 625 with the 4" barrel. It came with the red, white and blue grips, but have replaced them with the American Pride bought from S&W.

Like you I was debating between a JM or a PC model and when it came time to order, the JMs were not in stock, but there were a couple of the PC ones in stock, so for the extra $100 I bought the PC.

The trigger is unbelievably smooth, right out of the box and it is a tack driver. I think the black accents look nice too.

I have seen a JM, but have never shot one, so I can't compare the trigger.

I don't think you could go wrong with either gun. Good luck deciding!

I bought the JM because I found one used for a reasonable price. I actually like the 3/4 lug look of the PC gun better. I replaced the main spring and the rebound spring and did a bit of buff and polish. I've been doing that to S&Ws this past year. The JM had the original S&W mainspring and a fairly stiff rebound spring. I had heard that the PC version had a replacement spring and some action work to make the trigger better.

I replaced the JM grips with some Ahrends I had on a 25-13 Mountain gun while I await the new retro combats. Guns shoots good.

I just bought a 625JM and the trigger seamed to be smooth when I dry fired it but dit not get to shoot yet cleaned cylinder and barrel then looked in barrel with light to see what new rifling looked like it had machine gouges running all the way across one grove an half way across one land about 1.2 in from end barrel and opposite gouge was some irregular shaped pitting I think hard to see so sent it in today. but I thought it had good smooth trigger. seams like I been getting all lemons lately.
