So I made the jump to Apex FSS Kit... 2 weeks after I bought my gun... Yeah, the difference is huge... The super long pre-travel is gone, short crisp break...

New trigger also feels more beefy and comfort to grip than the factory trigger.

Only bad part is I found out my Late 2012 made M&P 9L have the 1/16" sear spring and sear plunger... huge bummer... Kinda stuck with old 1/16" housing. S&W told me the sear housing is restricted parts, and all online retailers seems to never have those in stock... Apex told me I should have read the disclosure which I did and assumed that I had the 1/8" sear spring & plunger...

I understand using the Apex sear with old 1/16" spring & plunger may lead to sear flutter/dead trigger... So can I just keep using the original factory sear, but do keep Apex trigger/Striker block and spring intact so I can at least take advantage of everything else, except the sear?
[Update... Just tested with factory sear, Apex trigger won't fire at all...]

And below is pic after new trigger job, and a few close up shots I've took of my beautiful baby :D

Midway USA carries them but are out of stock right now. You can sign up for notification.

G&R Tactical carries them too but as an assembly with the performance center sear. They too are out now.

Great pictures and I agree they look professional.

I am kind of a dumbazz when it comes to particular parts on my M&P. Mine is a M&P40C with the shell casing included in the box dated 7/14/14. How would I determine if I had a 1/8" of 1/16" sear spring and plunger?

Keep trying at G&R tactical. They come and go there.

I agree. Beautiful pics.

Thank you sir.

Dang man, are you a professional photographer?

Thanks man... Yes I am, feel free to checkout my site :)

Your gun is pretty darn new.. it should have newest sear... But only way to be certain is take the gun apart and take the sear housing out to check on the spring under the sear, it's one of the easier task to disassemble, as you only need to take one rolled steel pin out to take the sear housing block out.

You can check this vid, start from 10:00 min. Tools I used to knock the pin out is just the steel punches from home depot, and once half way through, I knock the pin completely out using the long end of a small hex screw (or anything small enough to go through the 1/16" pin hole). Then just use a flat screw driver to pry it half way out, then pull the trigger, and it will come out completely. Reinstall in the reverse order.

Call Apex to see if you can send it in to have them drill out the hole to the larger diameter. I seem to recall that they offered the service for something like $25. I first tried the FSS kit with my original 1/16" spring, but started getting dead triggers so I got a new sear housing from Brownell's for about $30 and it came within 3 days. I tried drilling the hole out myself but wound up breaking the drill bit off in the hole :(

Smith and Wesson seems to use "form fit function" parts wherever and whenever they please meaning if they find some new old stock parts, they put them in the current production line. No problem if you keep everything stock and they do have a "lifetime" warranty so long as you don't need to change out parts for a "customization".
