us army 1917 help

hi there and late happy holidays to everyone.

i have a very very nice 1917 us army revolver in 45

date of serial number is october 1918 first 3 are 119XXX

there is a stamp mark by the hammer on the left side of the frame , i have never seen before. looking for a potential value and info on that marking

That is a very nice Model of 1917! As others have informed you, the stamp on the upper left frame is the "Flaming Bomb" ordnance stamp and it is found on the later military 1917s. I've been seeing asking prices for nice condition 1917s anywhere from $1500 to $2000+. My 1917, s/n 132922, is a little later than yours (Dec. 1918). It's a fun and accurate shooter. Enjoy!
