I was curious if there was a 49 star US flag and there was from 1959 to 1960. The stars were offset in the vertical as opposed to the 48 star flag of WWII era in which the rows are offset in the horizontal.
Of course now with 50 states the rows are all even.
I thought it was interesting to learn that any one of those flags are still ok to display.
I tried to copy some pics of all three but was unsuccessful.
Perhaps I should have already known this but alas, I was ignorant of the 49 star flag. ( I was only 6 when it happened)

ANY U.S. flag ever officially adopted may be displayed and should receive the same degree of veneration as the current 50 star version.
. I have a 13 star flag that has been displayed in my living room for the last 10 years. That and a signed picture of Charlton Heston that I received from the NRA hold a place of honor on my wall.
