This afternoon at 4:10 PM Eastern time, the US Space Service launched a GPS satellite into orbit.

This was the 8th launch for the US Space Service.

That amazes me since the US Space Service was only created as our 6th armed service last year at the order of President Trump.

They have been very busy.

They've been busy launching stuff that's likely been in the pipeline for a decade.

The USSF is essentially the old USAF Space Command, reorganized. It's under the Department of the Air Force, much as the USMC is under the Department of the Navy, even though it is now recognized as a separate service.
