I've got a couple month old wireless/wired gateway supplied by ATT for computers at home. If I get a WIFI capable cell phone what do I need to use it at home? I use T Mobile on my cell phone.
Thanks, Jim

Just go to settings on the phone and hook to your wireless network and you are good to go. All texts and emails are free on the wireless or any wireless as far as that goes while you are in the area but phone calls remain the same as far as the bill goes.

Thanks for info but: I don't have a land line. Only reason to go WIFI with cell would be to save minutes on cell bill. Does that change things?

There are a number of free phone application services on the iPhone and Androids that let you make free calls if you're connected to wifi.

I use a free iPhone app "Talkatone" when I am wifi connected and it works great.

Thankyou I will have to look in to this. I really have no need for a phone to use on the internet. So buying an Andriod phone to save a couple bucks on minutes used on cell bill might not be advantageous.
