Mine is taken from the oldest car I own, an all original unrestored 1931 Ford Model A Tudor.
Before my retirement, I was a hydrogeologist engaged in soil & groundwater remediation, mostly at DoD facilities. Hence, I was a Rock Doctor, which sounds better than a Dirt Doctor.
I wanted something as anonymous as possible. No offense meant to the fine hordes of Peter Peterson's out there...
When I was a kid, I would pretend I was a cop, just like my grandfather. I had the whole get-up on. Real badge, the works. I was pretty qualified, as in those days, I did quite a few what nowadays are called "ride-alongs" with my Pap.
When I would arrest or detain my father, which was a nightly occurrence, and ask him for his name, he would always reply "Pete Moss". This would earn him a nightstick, or at the minimum, a blackjacking. I may have drawn my duty Mattel Python once or twice, but these were the days before camera phones...
When my boys were older, in the same scenario, my answer was always- Pete Peterson. I wanted to be original.
Good one, Chief.Have used mine since 1980 when I made Master Chief.
Navy has everything backwards.
Master Chief Sonar Technician (Surface Warfare) becomes
STCM(SW)
PING!![]()
Well if you really must know.....
I was very surprised mine wasn't taken when I registered 12 years ago. Mabye I should change it to "Capt. Obvious" LOL.
Fun thread, thanks!
