USPS ,can somebody explain ?

SFR is 9.60 through ebay shipping but they get a discount.. The SFR fee is I am pretty sure 11.00 insured for at least 50 dollars Ins over that may indeed be an extra 3.35

Just checked USPS site. . sfr is 11.00 with up to 50 dollars insurance..Extra 50 dollars IS over 3 dollars more...so if you insured the package for a hundred dollars they would add that as an added fee...but supposed to be done at the shippers PO. I am fighting them now for a padded envelope that was not delivered...yet anyway

I sent three priority mail envelops containing Christmas cards (value added of course), on December 17, with expected deliver on December 20 at all three. Only one delivered within a week! The one to St. Charles was returned to Kansas City, then back to St. Charles and was out for delivery for nearly a week. The one to Baton Rouge was out for deliver from December 26, after sitting somewhere for a week, finally delivered on January 6th, the the tracking has never been updated to delivered status! Carrier is embarrassed I guess!! Never seen such poor service in my lifetime!

The magazine was sent flat rate and with NO additional insurance added at the rate of $11.00 from my post office cross country to a post office in New York state.
The buyer was then told they needed another $3.35 for ?

18 days ago I sent a package to Almont Michigan by USPS. It has stopped for a rest in Detroit for 14 days. Tracking tells me it's on the way..only tracking says it stopped moving Dec 30th. USPS has no further updates. Buyer filed a claim on eBay and Ill have to give them all of their money back..while I can't file a claim for 45 days. Grrr..

Before I ship anything I have my wife weigh it, many times it is cheaper to put in a yellow bag and pay much less than if it fits it ships. I mentioned my nephew worked for USPS for a year or so, he told me the stuff they hate the most are things like the plated bullets I buy that just fit under the 50lb limit and come in a box not much larger than a softball. The shippers are smart and use half a roll of packing tape because they know the guys at USPS are going to hate it and roll it, kick it, drop it but it gets here all in one piece. He also told me whatever I do never ship anything fragile in a box that resembles in any way a football, "Hey Bobby, go deep." I still don't have any complaints with the USPS. I have had problems...sure, but it usually came down to the fact that the sender didn't use enough packing material to prevent damage or didn't properly or legibly write my address on the item which then got sent back to bloody Austrailia after failing to get through customs, thats not the fault of USPS.
