I'm just putting this info out there for anyone wondering about delivery times taking so long. My contact at the Post Office where I am in the Thumb area of Michigan says that regular mail is taking up to 10 days or more and even the Priority Boxes which used to get there in around two days have increased to 4 days or more. And, as the holiday season approaches, it will get longer.
Also, when looking up a tracking number on the computer, make sure you are on the actual USPS site. The others are often inaccurate or downright useless.

Charge more, take longer. They say they are not Gubmint but I don't believe them.

Family in the UK sent birthday cards to my wife recently. They took nearly two weeks to get here. How much of that is down to USPS and how much to the train strikes in the UK I cannot say.

However, a thick envelope from the UK postmarked 8 December arrived yesterday, the 14th. I call that good service.

I mailed a package from Ormond Beach FL. on Monday, and it arrived in Cincinnati today.

Considering all the mail and packages going thru the USPS system this time of year...3 days ain't bad!

Three days is great anytime of year.

Ten minutes ago USPS delivered that box. A 4.5 pound box of peanut butter fudge made by Kevin's mom ,June.

It left on the 12th.

Impressed, I am.

PS: thank you both as June makes the best PB fudge in this hemisphere.

To quote Beldar "we will enjoy it".

REALLY!!!!!!
This is how it has been for as long as I have been aware of the USPS, more than 70 years. they always advertise on television for weeks that there will be delays during the Christmas season, including the last day to mail packages so they will be delivered by Christmas. Have you all just figured this out?

What is the point of this post other than telling everyone something they already know and wasting band-width:mad::(

Yes, I am a crotchety old fart!

It may come as a surprise to some of you folks, but our country is overpopulated. WAY too many people. Think about it, lines everywhere, long delays. In wildlife management the word is "carry capacity" of the land. The USA has passed the carry capacity for humans. Now we have to deal with it. Also "climate change" is another word for "overpopulation". The west does not even have sufficient water to have daily normal activity any more. And you wonder why UPS or the USPS is so "slow". Wake up folks, the ones on this forum are way sharper than this.
