Go to a match and see what's being worn, it will give you an idea about what you like. Just about every manufacturer makes good stuff. I'd show you what I use but I shoot Open class so it wouldn't be much help to you. ;). I use Blade Tech when I shoot IDPA and have been very satisfied with their stuff but I've never actually seen a holster or pouch malfunction with any of the brands. One piece of advice, "Don't cheap out". I've bought cheap holsters and belts in the past and they're all on a shelf in the closet gathering dust, too cheap to even attempt to sell.

Good luck with your new pistol and welcome to USPSA

Blade tech or comp tac that is certified for IDPA is perfect for Production

For IDPA with my M&P I am using a Kramer #3 IWB or USPSA my Galco Speed Hoslter (I think that is the right model) which is an OWB design.
I don't have a Bladetech for the M&P but use one for several other of my handguns...great product..

My belt is either a Milt Sparks or a Bianchi...both are quite sturdy enough to support the weight. Sometimes use a Carhartt work belt as well which works out nicely.

Mag pouches are Bianchi leather or kydex are Uncle Mikes....don't know if that helps or not......Bkreutz advice about attending a match and see what is used by others and why...is certainly spot on advice.

This is the rig I used last week. It worked very well for me.
The holster is a Galco. The numbers on it are: E129WCD and TS472B. I did about 50 draws from it to ease its grip on the gun a bit. Worked great.
Two of the mag pouches are Uncle Mike's Kydex for double-column magazines. The third one is a Bladetech for double column mags. Both brands worked well for me, but the Bladetech was a little more consistent when adjusting for resistance. The Uncle Mike's were not even between the two pockets. That wasn't noticeable during competition, but I was conscious of it when putting reloaded magazines back into them.

I tried a 5.11 holster and was unable to use it. No matter what I did, including using the drop & offset piece, the holster mount, paddle or belt slots, flexed the belt too much. It would bind up against my waist. I had a perfectly fit leather belt, so that wasn't the issue.

The Galco, Uncle Mike's, and Bladetech worked very well and were not expensive.

Can I not use adjustable pouches? I was looking at Blade Tech adjustable ones!

You can use the adjustable mag holders in USPSA production provided they are worn in the proper position (behind the hip bone) Just make sure no part of them is angled forward of that point or you'll find yourself switched to open class. ;) IDPA, I don't know. I shoot it sometime but I just use a Blade Tech double mag pouch like what was pictured. I'm not a IDPA RO (or whatever they call them;)) so I don't know detailed rules.

I got a DAA belt like it but very stiff but will work fine. Blade Tech Black Ice Holster with DOH and Tek Lok got it from Midway for $49.99 happy with it but it does angle gun toward leg it has more angle then I thought it would. Still looking for some mag pouches; still need ideas on them?
