Vacation help from the Tennessean's

Make sure you spend a day in the Arts & Crafts community it is our favorite spot, there are many fine things to look at there.
Chimney Tops picnic area is also very nice, pick up some sandwiches and enjoy a few hours there enjoying the river and the outdoors.
Cades Cove is nice, but a little ride there, go there in the late afternoon and you might see some bear, very beautiful there for taking pics.
Cherokee NC is nice, the ride is awesome, you'll see for yourself.
Don't waste you time going to clingmans dome, it's far and a long uphill walk to see nothing
Enjoy the strip in the evening, it's kind of cool just to people watch, make sure you get some Taffy and Taffy apples!
Enjoy yourselves as we have for many years.

Dollywood also opened a water park there about 2-3 years ago, it is very nice,
While in Pigeon Forge there is plenty of shopping at the outlet malls for the ladies, my wife likes the Tanger Mall, you can't miss it,
The apple barn is a nice place to eat, and the Old Mill restaurant is popular also
Don't forget to ride the gocarts.
Oh, when riding through the mountains there are plenty of pull offs to stop and take pics, just remember to stay in your lane as there are alot of turns and the roads are kind of narrow, and use the transmission to slow ya down on some of the steep hills as ya will burn up your brakes heading to Cherokee. Have fun!

If you want to take a nice ride drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. Maggie Valley is great. Another nice ride is take 276 from Waynesville to Brevard. You will pass Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls. Brevard is a great place, Artsy community, alot to do, great resturants. PM me if you want I lived 45 min from Gatlinberg for 10 years. Also 10 years in WNC. BTW sometimes you can get great deals if you want to sit thru a time share speil. Ditto on Chattanoga Aquarium plus there is a Gun Show there May 30&31

SEE ROCK CITY. Lost Lake is great. GO by Erwin TN. they hung an Elephant there. Ditto on Biltmore House. ETC.

The nearest gunshop is in Knoxville

Not so, there is a nice indoor range/gunshop in Sevierville. Wife & I met another couple in Pidgeon Forge for a weekend trip- they went shopping, we went stomping around in the woods and then to the range.

Regarding the traffic in Pigeon Forge; it is terrible! There is, however, a bypass that will save a lot of pain and depression. Any of the locals would be happy to tell you how to get to it and use it. A lot of people around here like to stay in Townsend instead. I've not been there yet.

Bass Pro, toys with a built in bar. Smokey Mountain Brewery in downtown Gatlinburg for fresh beer and a killer sausage sandwich.
