Value Check: 625

I have a 625 I'm not shooting (I have a bit more "fun" with a Colt 1917 when I want to shoot .45 revolver. And I no longer walk in the woods so I don't need the big bang for protection). So I'm thinking of selling or trading for something like a S&W 1911, 4506, or ???

I checked the big auction site for "completed" sales and the average of the last 10 (I look at 12 and throw out highest and lowest) is $1500. Is that about right?

(And for the adventurous, what would you take in trade -- in 9 or 40 or 45?)

Which model 625 and barrel length means a lot…

Barrel length. Lock or no-lock. A lot of the final price has to do with how well your listing is and whether or not you accept credit cards.

My impression is, most have been selling in the $1000 to $1200 range.

With all that being said, it's worth what somebody will pay you and, with all the newbies in the hobby, that could be some absurdly high amount.

I gave $250.00 for mine back around 1995. I can’t imagine parting with it.

I just purchased one on this forum for $900 which I thought was a fair price. You have to remember that the auction prices represent the highest price anyone in the country will pay for that item. Of course the use of that platform also incurs additional expense along with dealing with an unknown buyer. A local sale or forum sale will usually result in a more real world dollar amount with less risk.

Variables such as dash series, barrel length, etc, etc along with detailed pics will help immensely with establishing realistic prices.

Otherwise, I'm guessing a price range of maybe $700-$1700???
