It's time for me to start parting with some guns. This is a 1996 686-4 2.5" 7 shot Performance Center 686 Plus. It is a Lew Horton run of 300 or 350. It feature 4 Magnaports, Factory over travel stop on trigger, trigger job, red ramp front & Dymondwood Grips. Factory SKU 170077. The condition is Excellent. What is retail value of this? I am not in a hurry to sell. Thanks in advance!

I don't think that's the kind of gun you sell locally to the casual buyer. A one of 300ish Lew Horton pre-IL gun will get way more juice with the base of rare S&W collectors (like this Forum). I'd think $1500 or more is in order, maybe $1800-$2000 with all the goodies. Pre-IL 686 snub 6 shooters are getting $1200-$1400, and are merely uncommon vs. rare, so yours should command more.

For sure $1800-2000 with box and all. Those are rare and don't come up for sale too often. Sounds like I need to go shopping in SAFireman's area if guns like that are that cheap down there ;-)

Those Lew Horton PC special run revolvers are selling for some pretty good prices these days, and the 686+s are very popular. Some folks like the quad ports, and some don't, but I would think $1800 would be a fair price

@boost are all 686 pre locks selling for $1200? I bought a 686-4 2.5 inch for $900 with a holster no box or paperwork...... I have found little to nothing as far as information on my gun..... any help would be appreciated
