I have a 686-6 4in bbl that I am thinking of trading in. My question is does the hogue wood grips that I have on it make it worth more than the standard hogue rubber grips that I removed?

Assuming excellent condition and both grips non-original, the wood should value at twice to three times the rubber.

More importantly, you might want to reconsider a trade-in as you'll likely get much more for the piece selling it yourself and then applying that money towards whatever it is you want. 4" 686s are popular and you'd have no problem selling it at a fair price here on the forum, for example.

reb,

Like -db- stated, you'll take a real beatin' on value in any trade. Sell it outright.
