Not sure if the stamp is blurred or the gun is marked wrong. But that's a model 15. It happens.
Model 16s were in .32 S&W long and are extremely rare and expensive.
Around here that gun would go for around $450. But bear in mind that prices can vary considerably based on location.

Hi...Welcome to the forum. It looks like you have a Model 15-3 from the mid 70's. It sure looks stamped as 16 but everything pictured points to Model 15. It does look to be in excellent condition. I'd estimate $500 - $600 range on value.
Someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to give you better direction.

I called the owner back and even though the pic looks like a 16 he thinks it could be a 15, which makes sense given that its 38 not 32. Thanks all!!

Wow ... how many times in this situation has a new user argued up and down that hundreds of years of collected wisdom here is wrong and their original assertion is correct?

Very nice for a change. Hope you stick around, OP!

And, welcome aboard.

Welcome to the Forum. I'm glad we were able to clarify the model number. The Model 15 (all dash numbers) is a highly regarded revolver. Many of us carried them in 'Nam. I only pulled mine from leather once in two years and fortunately did not have to pull the trigger. But it was nice to have on my belt.

I'd argue that the price on this one would be well north of $450. I'd buy as many as I can find in that condition for a mere $450. :)

Been following Gun Broker on model 15's, that condition's $650 or better. Gun shops same thing, old worn police beaters are $450 now. This gun is in very nice shape.

I sold a just-OK, nothing special Model 15-3 to a friend at least two years ago at what I considered a "friends and family" rate... $450. If you can find one now at that price, I'd consider it a bargain. Of course prices vary locally, so your experiences may vary.
