I was out of town today and stopped in at a gun shop. (of course
) I spotted a beautiful 6" nickel model 19-5. The grips on it were flat target looking grips, but obviously new and absolutely incorrect. However, the gun itself was gorgeous and in almost perfect condition. There's no box or any other paraphernalia, just the revolver. It was not pinned and recessed.
I've been looking in my Third Edition S&W Catalog and I can't determine if nickel is the correct finish. The price is $650. so here in CA, it will run around $735. out the door. Of course, like everything else here, California prices are higher than prices in the rest of the country.
So, this leaves me with three questions, is a 19-5 in nickel the correct finish? Would you shoot it, and bearing in mind that this is CA, what does the price sound like to you?
I'm on a very tight budget, so I'd have to sell something to buy it, so overall is it worth the effort? I'm not normally a nickel finish guy, but this 19 is drop dead gorgeous.
