Hi,

Could anyone give me a ball park figure I should ask for my LNIB CS9?

I've had it a couple of years (I bought it new when CDNN was clearing out their remaining stock of new 3rd Gen. Smiths), but it has had less than 50 rounds fired thru it.

Of course I have the original box, all paperwork and the spent test-fired brass, and 2 factory mags w/fingertip ext.

I'm not abandoning the 3rd gen. Smith family (I still have a 5906/5906/3913/3913LS and CS45), I just have too many compact 9's and need to sell something to finance the purchase of something else my senior citizen brain thinks I can't do without...

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, this pistol is NOT listed anyplace for sale at this time I just thought the S&W forum would be the best place to find out what, reasonable, price I should ask for it..

Thanks!

Jesse

Off the top of my head, I would ask @ $525 and go from there. After all, it is used. I paid $600 shipped for mine ,(98% cond) but it came with a brand new holster valued at $110.

Du:

Thanks! I appreciate the suggestion.

Check the auction sites: there's one in very similar condition to yours (same kit but with three mags) on Gunbroker right now that started at $425 and is presently going for $480, with one day remaining on the auction.

Erich,

Thanks for the tip..

I'm guessing I'll put it in a local (free) rag and see what happens. I've sold several guns that way, and generally do pretty good...

Thanks Again,

Jesse

Jesse, I'd bet that you can get a fair chunk for it that way - man, that's a great pistol. :)

Er:

Thanks, hope you are right...

Here are a couple of photos of my LS I CANNOT sell... It's mine, I paid for it, but my wife has become attached to it, so.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Hey, I didn't know you guys fro New Yark could own handguns?

Just kiddin'..

I'm going to try and sell my CS9 face to face, as it'll save the buyer shipping and save me the trouble of having to ship it.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Hey Jesse, I thought you had a 6906 too.

hi no:

Deed I do..

I like the 6906, and I like it even better using the higher capacity (13 VS 15) magazine from the 5906 w/S&W mag adapter..

Two free rounds, and the "feel" in the hand is actually, for me, better than the standard mag w/fingertip extension.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

My cousin lives in Winder, Ga NW of Atlanta. I might even "invade" your State someday. ;)

Come on down, we owe you a trip.. My Great-Grandfather was a guest of your Union Army at Elmira N.Y. back in the mid 1860's...

Actually that's where he acquired his taste for pizza..

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Jesse, I "was" in GA this past September, visiting Savannah and the surrounding area, after coming back from Orlando. Cool city, Savannah. :)
Thanks for the invite. I hope them yankees treated your greatgrandfather well.

Well, I guess it's all a matter of perception.. I would surmise My G-Grandfathers "hosts" considered themselves pretty hospitable in that at the end of the whole mess G-GP Durrence was set free and pointed South, whereas I'm betting G-GP Durrence had a different perspective as I never heard my Grandmother (who raised me) mention her Father had invited any Yankees South for a social visit AFTER the war.

As to Savannah?

Savannah is a beautiful old place, provided (as with most large cities) you don't wander a block or two off the beaten (tourist) path...

My wife and I have visited the Bonaventure Cemetery several times just to wander thru the old graves, and that is a fantastic cemetery.. If you ever get back to Savannah please try and save time to to there.

Savannah is one of the few larger cities my wife and I visit, and only then because we both have Doctors there, plus a couple of relatives we enjoy seeing, but Savannah is also one of the places I prefer having a larger cc firearm than my LCP along for the trip too....

In fact I generally have my CS45 in a FIST iwb along because, even when the tourist bureau denies it, Savannah is a pretty spooky place unless you stay in the main tourist areas.

I'm sure many (most?) large cities are as bad or worse (My Son's friend lives near Washington DC and he says the same thing).

I try to keep my tired old senior citizen old butt in familiar territory as much as possible.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Hi Cruiser,

Yeah, I know.. Just yanking your chain a bit..

I placed an ad in the local free "tell n' sell" paper and in the past I've had surprisingly good luck selling firearms there. I'm asking $595 for my CS9 but I'll be happy with $550 or anything North of that. It's not a "fire sale", so if it doesn't sell right away, (or ever) that's ok.

I also placed a WTS ad for one of my pristine "A" grade HK P7's too.. I have two and the 2nd one just sits in the gun safe.

I've just recently gotten back "into" rimfire rifles, and I want another older Marlin 39, or even another Browning SA22, (a Belgian would be my preference) and I'm old and poor, so haveta' sell something to buy something else (I don't need)..

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Not sure why that one on GB is still at $460 with 4hrs to go. I wonder if it will start creeping up near the end.

Well you know, 3rd gen Smiths are out there in limbo land.. The only folks who have an interest are those who have experience and know how good they are..

Younger buyers in particular are more into the plastic guns..

But..

On the other hand, real 3rd Gen Smith fans know how good they are, and a seller just has to be patient for the right buyer to come along.

NOT "having" to sell anything is so much better than NEEDING to sell something quickly..

If a person is patient, it all works out.

Best Wishes,

Jesse
