I have a pair of KTR custom walnut grips for S&W K-22, K-38, or M&P (square butt model) that I was asked to help sell for a good friend.

The grips have obviously been used and the box is not pristine (it has a ripped corner).

There is a light gouge on the left grip, light dimples on the bottom of the butt, and screw shows signs of use.

What might I expect for value on these? I can provide specific pictures of needed. Thanks!

Perhaps the KTR on the box refers to K Target grips. Occasionally, the owner puts the new grips on and the old grips go in the box. The grips shown are K Frame diamond magnas, and you can check on ebay for prices. Condition, of course, makes the value quite variable - but they generally sell in the $55 (+ or - $20) range. Other grip experts might be along and will identify the maker of the grips from that box.

Those grips are most certainly S&W factory magnas. If they are the original take offs, they should have a serial number stamped on the inside of the right grip panel. If no serial number, they most likely would have been purchased after the gun.

Sorry, but I have no clue about the box and KTR grips. You may be correct about K Thumb Rest. At least it makes sense.

300890 stamped on the right grip.
