Bodyguard 2.0 shooting left and low out of box

So, I like the little bug pistol form factor so well I bought 4, one for each of us. I took them out yesterday to do an initial break in (50 rounds each)....they shoot amazingly well for such a small pistol, no snap and easy follow-up shots. But all of them shoot to the left. Is this my mechanics and lack of practice or are they prone to shoot like that?

Anyone else notice anything?

BTW - I only had two problems with one pistol regarding feeding. First magazine shooting Hornady Critical Defense I had two misfeeds. After that magazine they were all flawless. I shot 3 types of hollow point mixed with FMJ.

My daughters and wife love the size and will carry much more frequently, but they will have to practice more than they do with the P365X I think.

The BG 2 is a 7 yard and in gun, which is fine because they will carry these.

This is one of the most common complaints you find on BG threads; it's also common with M&P Shields. I own 2 Shields, both of which shot left and low out of the box - while you will get lots of advice on grip, trigger control, etc., you can fix this by drifting the FRONT sight to align your point of aim with the point of impact. The S&W factory does not recommend moving the rear sight, which is why the instruction manual advises sight adjustment only with the front sight.

Thanks. Yup that's what I figured. Wish I didn't have to do that on brand new pistols. I guess that would be my only substantive complaint to S&W.

Same here. I adjusted mine and will probably replace the sights anyway since the rear sight seems a little sharp and I don’t want damage my suit when pocket carrying

The BG 2.0 striker safety is not under the rear sight and the manual suggest moving the rear sight on page 35.
Also, if you ever need to clean or service the striker you will need to remove the rear sight (NOT suggested by me or the factory).
But it seems to me if you oil the striker safety the striker will get dirty.
I use Teflon powder on all my strikers.

I stand corrected. The new BG 2.0 manual (REV:BODYGUARD_2.0_013024) does indeed suggest drifting the rear sight for adjustment.

Initially a number of the 2.0 bodyguards came with the sights, particularly the front, not centered in the sight channel. A lot of posts confirming this. Mine were fine and both shoot p.o.a. Great little pistol for carry especially when you have to walk with a cane. I always carry a 12 round spare or a second bodyguard with 12 rounds. All magazines are loaded with Black Hills Honey Badgers.

As regards removing rear sights, yes, the BG1.0 has a safety plunger, captured by a plate held by the rear sight. Perhaps that's why you're not to fool with that sight.
Concur with OldBBB; no oil on the striker, and I blow mine out with compressed air, and check for free motion.

Accept when the sights from S&W are sitting on "the grip" misaligned.

I too, replaced the rear sight with one from a Bodyguard 1.0. since I have had a BG 1.0 for several years that is now wearing XS Big Dot Sights. I think it is a big improvement on the sight picture for the 2.0.

Left could be the sights, that was/is a common issue. Low left is likely, at least partially shooter induced.

Installed a Bodyguard 1.0 rear sight, old new the original was a real bear to get off. I had to use a steel punch and a 2 pound dead blow hammer to get the thing off. I was able to install the 1.0 with a brass punch.

Sighting in was 100 rounds CCI Blazer Brass 95 gr FMJ. and 25 rounds Sellier & Bellot XRG 77 gr.

Original 2.0 sight at 25 ft. 1.0 sight at 25 ft

Use a 16 oz ballpeen hammer the plastic on the deadblow absorbs to much energy.

Deadblows, regardless of the face material, don't give the jolt needed to break things lose.

Am I missing something? The accuracy of the Original 2.0 sight is considerably better.

Nope, the groups are smaller with the 1.0 sight. I just seem to shoot better with the smaller sight picture.

Yeah well not THIS pistol. It's a fact that many of them come directly from the factory with misaligned sites. Fact. Far too many owners have reported they shoot low left for it to be shooter error.
