Value or desire ability of S&W 1640??

I saw one of these on gunbroker. Looks like a good basic hunting rifle in 30'06. What do they normally sell for in good condition? Any reason to not want one?

What can you tell me about it? What kind of groups would be normal?

I bought a 1500 for $300. The 1640 appears to be the upscale version. I wouldn't pay more than $5-600. That is just me. I am looking at getting a model 1500 300 win mag but, don't really want to spend more than $350ish. When I can get a brand new rifle for $800 +/- then why would I spend that on an old Smith. Don't get me wrong, I dig the rifles and got a 7mm mag but, when it comes down to it I am on the practical side.
