Value Question?

What is the ballpark value of a 95% nickel 45acp Model of 1950 with low "S" prefix serial number, short action and very good case colors. I'm guessing $1100, but don't have a clue on this one. The SCSW book states that 3976 were manufactured, but no mention of a nickel production. Were there nickel guns and if so, would this be a delta in the price? Just asking!

I would suspect an after market finish.Take a look on the barrel flat,cylinder and grip frame for an N.I don't know whether any of these were made in nickel,but 10% of production is seen in other models.

N Marking

On the barrel flat there is the serial number that matches all the other numbers but there is not a "B" or an "N". There is a star at the end of the serial number on the barrel, no star on the butt. I have researched all the web sites and the "Guns For Sale" section on the forum and have not found a nickel Model of 1950. This one may have been sent back to the factory for a refinish. Anybody got a factory nickel model of 1950 in 45acp?

Without a "N" stamped somewhere on it, I'd agree.

I have one purchased sight unseen with presentation case etc. Factory letter obtained later shows pistol shipped blue and returned later and nickeled plated in '76
