Hey guys , thought I would post this, I was just commissioned to do a reproduction of the famous, Vampire Gun done by Leonard Francolini, for those of you who are unaware of this gun here is a link, it now resides in the NRA Museum.. The National Firearms Museum: Vampire Hunter's Colt the collector has commissioned only the engraving of the gun, not the sculpted bullets or anything else, should be a fun project...will post the pics throughout the process.

I've seen that revolver in a magazine article years ago, I thought then it was a cool concept.:D

Are you doing an exact reproduction or will there be some changes to the new "Vampire Hunter" .... maybe a 3 & 1/2 inch S&W Mod 27-2 !?!:)

Please post up lotsa' Pics.

Probably 20 years ago or more I saw an article on that gun in 'Guns' magazine and thought it was a very cool, well done, but extremely oddball firearm. I've thought about that gun off and on over the years and have always wondered where it got off to and why it had never shown up on this forum, now i know.
Hope the project goes well and keep us posted on your work, this should be an interesting project (hope it pays as well as it should look!).

I presume you will be doing the engraving? If so, have you considered carving a bullet mold which will cast a similar projectile made of lead? If you add a little bit of silver, you can cast a bullet which can actually be used and kill vampires just as dead.

Oh man, you had better stay out of Transylvania. Silver is for werewolves, not vampires. :)

Seriously though, I thought that gun was a hoot when I read the magazine article. I'm not much for engraved guns, but I'd love to own that one. Talk about the ultimate BBQ gun!

D'Angelo,
Guys who can engrave have always amazed me. Will you have access to original drawings, the gun or just go from the close-up pictures on the Museums web-site? It looks like a challenging project - best of luck.

I sent you a PM about possibly doing another. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in doing and what the cost is. I have a S&W 640 that would look great in that style of engraving.
